Staff Orthopedic Physical Therapist – Sports Medicine, New Grads Welcome
Staff Orthopedic Physical Therapist Job in Rockville, MD
Apex Performance Therapy is hiring for a Staff Orthopedic Physical Therapist job in Rockville, MD, and we’re looking for a motivated clinician with a strong interest in sports medicine, orthopedics, and performance-based rehabilitation. We’re an outpatient sports and orthopedic practice serving Rockville, North Bethesda, and the surrounding Montgomery County community, and we’re growing. If you want to help active people and athletes get back to doing what they love, this is a full-time role where that is the daily work, and new grads are welcome.
Bridging Physical Therapy and Performance
Our mission is to provide high-quality, individualized rehabilitation while bridging the gap between traditional physical therapy and performance. We value evidence-based care, progressive exercise, objective testing, and treating the person, not just the diagnosis. Your patients will include active adults, recreational athletes, competitive athletes, and people recovering from orthopedic surgery, so your week may include post-operative rehab after ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, shoulder procedures, or Achilles injuries alongside athletes working through a return to running.
You’ll develop and progress return-to-sport and return-to-performance programs for recreational, high-school, collegiate, and competitive athletes. That work draws on therapeutic exercise, plyometrics, agility and change-of-direction training, and objective measures that guide each progression, with the goal of a safe and successful return to sport for every athlete you treat.
Athletic Coverage and a Team That Backs You Up
Through our partnerships with collegiate athletic programs, our clinicians have opportunities to work directly with athletes and provide athletic event coverage. Coverage for partner schools may include basketball, soccer, volleyball, acrobatics, track and field, and other sports, with sideline assessment, acute injury management, basic emergency response, and appropriate referral within your scope of practice. Evening and weekend coverage is occasional and follows the schedules of partner schools and athletic programs. Because these partnerships put you beside athletes outside the clinic as well as in it, your work reaches well beyond the treatment room.
Our clinic is a collaborative outpatient orthopedic environment where therapists talk openly about treatment plans, share practical strategies, and support one another on busy days. New hires complete structured onboarding covering clinic orientation, workflow training, and EMR instruction, followed by peer case collaboration sessions, one-on-one check-ins with leadership, periodic chart review and feedback, and continuing education support. You’ll also coordinate care with physicians, athletic trainers, coaches, and families, so you’re part of a wider network around each athlete. We’re looking for a clinician who wants to grow with the practice, develop professionally, and become an important part of our team and the athletic communities we serve, and this structure is built to support exactly that.
Compensation:
- $80,000–$95,000 USD per year
