Here are some questions you may currently be having to help you get started:

What is pelvic floor physical therapy, and how can it help me?

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on treating the pelvic muscles (and possibly other parts of the body) to address issues like incontinence, pelvic pain, and postpartum recovery.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session includes a review of your history, symptom discussion, and assessment of posture and pelvic muscles. With consent, an internal exam may be done, and your comfort is always prioritized.

Will pelvic floor therapy be painful or uncomfortable?

Pelvic floor therapy is typically not painful, but some techniques may feel new or unfamiliar. If you do experience discomfort, open communication is key, with your  consent being required every step of the way. Dr. Mina ensures treatments are adjusted to your comfort level, emphasizing that it’s your body, your choice.

How long does it take to see results?

Results will vary based on your condition and consistency with the home exercises that Dr. Mina will give you. Some patients notice changes in weeks, while others may need several months of therapy and home exercises.

Is pelvic floor therapy only for women?

Although pelvic floor therapy can benefit everyone, Dr. Mina currently provides care exclusively for women.
